SketchTeens! Performance Group for Young People
So, you think you’re funny, kid? Back by popular demand, Sketchworks resurrects its summer workshop for Teens, ages 13-18. In this intensive eight week course, students explore character development, learn comedic timing, and discover the essence of ‘truth in comedy’.
Each Saturday afternoon class serves as a rehearsal for a live, two night performance of an original scripted sketch comedy show, aimed specifically at the humor, sensibilities, and concerns of teens. The Showcase is performed in front of a live audience, onstage in the Sketchworks Theatre, and is always a sell out - giving students beneficial live performance experience.
The course is taught by long-time Sketchworks main stage regulars and producers, Bob Harter and Mike Stiles. Prolific working actors and directors, they guide students from initial character development, script analysis and finding the humor, all the way through an exciting live performance. Because the team of students is working together to rehearse and stage a full-length live Sketch show, the instructors requests a strict no absentee policy.
Strict limit of ten students, for the perfect cast!
